Japanese Kutani porcelain small onion vase with burnt orange neck, bird and floral body decoration, there is very slight pattern wear, the pictures do not do this vase justice as I was unable to get rid of the flare, thus obscuring some of the wonderful handpainted decoration, generally in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. It has a good deep base rim and probably dates to around mid Meiji period c1890.
The vase measures 9.5cm tall with a maximum diameter of 5cm.
