A wonderful Japanese Kutani porcelain jug, decorated in Burnt Orange with gilt trim. The depiction on the body is of two figures in a garden scene, the flowers, birds and insects are overstated in size. The jug is in excellent condition, there is some minor pattern wear, no chips cracks or repairs, probably a milk jug from a tea set.
The mark on the base is Ku Ta Ni or Nine Valleys, which is a region in the province of Kaga. This jug dates to the end of the Meiji period so around 1910. It measures 12cm tall and 9cm maximum diameter.
