Beautiful Japanese Blue and White Hexagonal pierced Koro. This lovely piece of porcelain dates back to around mid 1800's, possibly before, made in Hirado. it is designed to hold fragrant blossom or pot purri. Looking at the pattern on the top of piece, it is doubtful whether it was ever produced with a lid and possibly even used for tea lights.
It is in good condition, there is some slight wear, and a small flake of porcelain of one of the top corners. Amazingly all of the delicate hexagonal piercing remains intact. A lovely piece that has stood the test of time very well indeed.
It measures 8cm tall, and 10cm across.
