A Grimwade Ltd, Stoke on Trent floral cheese dish and cover in a green colourway with gilt highlights. The cover has a internal hairline as shown, the cover is intact and stable, and a tiny nibble on the front edge of the cover. There is some pattern wear but generally in good order. The backstamp dates to 1900-1910, which is consistent with the pattern, an impressed Rd No in the base of RD308603, puts the pattern at 1897. Grimwades which, has been in existence since 1886, later changing its name to Royal Winton, has become one of the premium makers in the UK.
