Despite this item being cast and carved out of Resin or the equivalent, it is a wonderful piece, some of the representations of Buddha and Pu Tai are strange looking. This piece has really caught the serene calm of Buddha in meditation.
Pu Tai is a disciple of Buddha, often reffered to as the laughing Buddha, due to his size and jolly demeanour. Significantly holding a pine cone. There is a huge amount of Lore surrounding pine cones. In Buddhism it has a spiritual meaning, believed to resemble the pineal gland, widely reffered to as 'the seat of the soul'. The pine cone largely represents the third eye. Known as a symbol of growth and renewal (as many seeds are).
It measures 12cm tall with a width of 11cm. it is a substantial piece, weighing nearly 1kg on its own.
