A lovely Chinese Meiping form lidded underglazed blue and white vase. The lid has a lovely dog of Fo as a finial. Although not marked the style and decoration is from the Dao Guang period 1821-1850. It has panelled decoration featuring characters. Visually in good condition, there is damage to a section from the top rim. This is really easily seen and is only found by light finger rub, it does not appear to have been repaired, due to the invisibility (tried to show in photo). The lid has a couple of nibbles on the underside and rim as shown. There are glaze imperfections as expected on a piece of this age.
It measures 17cm tall with a 7cm maximum diameter.
