A truly lovely handpainted Kutani bowl. As you can see it has been broken in half, the repair is a good one and done to a good level, this does however detract from not only the price but also from a lovely bowl.
This rice bowl was made in about 1890 in the Nine Valley Region of Kaga in Japan. (9 Valleys = Ku Ta Ni).
It is very typical of the region and depicts a court scene. The painting is exquisite, a true antique and thing of stunning beauty.
Measuring a diameter of 15cm with a height of 6cm.
